Psychic

Forget Professor X, he does not exist.

Talk about Paul the Octopus !!!!!!!!!

Yes, the psyhic octopus predictions on the world cup matches have been accurate so far.

The most anticipated will of course be the match between Argentina & Germany.

Paul has predicted Germany will win.

God bless Argentina & Diego Maradona.

There are a few skeptics out there and there will always be skeptics.

But I am kinda convinced because the octopus is a unique species and is known to have INTELIGENCE.

Some have active camouflage i.e. defence like the Predator from AvP has or in simple terms just blend into its surroundings.

They are so mysterious and not much is known about these magnificant creatures.

Who knows, they actually have psychic abilities ?

Can you accept the fact?

Let's see if Paul can accurately predict which team is going to win the World Cup

Betting on The Wrong Stuff

If you watch the news lately you can see that lot of bookies as they call it are busted by the cops for illegal betting on World Cup matches.

The cops seize like thosands of bucks and lot of laptops & handphones but I wonder what they will do with it.

The goverment says that illegal betting is so rampant that about more than RM 3 million is at stake. I wonder what they think about the RM 30 MILLION they lost in taxes due to illegal sand mining in JB.

I think they should just make it legal and charge a percentage of tax. In that way, it will "benifit" both parties. Yeah right, like that will happen in Malaysia. It would be like making prostitution legal. Come on, Czech Republic does it.

The funny part is when one high ranking official stated betting on football matches should be stopped because people might start betting on local football tournaments.

This is a joke right? Come on, who the heck watches local football matches and make bets on it ? It is like making a bet in a gasing tournament. Our people would rather gamble their money in the casino if they are high class or on a chicken fighting tournament if they are low class.

I don't know about you but I am not a gambling kind of person but I must admit some times gambling might seem a bit high class due to James Bond movies. Whenever anyone asks me, "Are you a gambling person?" my reply would be as what James Bond said in one of the movies i.e. "Yes, if the stakes are high".

Now you know why I don't bet on football matches or chicken fighting tournaments.

Tribute to a Genius & Inventor

Anyone know this guy ?

I bet 98% of people in Malaysia do not know this dude.

All we know is Thomas Alva Edison.

Once you know the dude above you will go like "To hell with Edison !"

The dude above is Nikola Tesla.

This guy is a real genius and not a capitalist like Edison.

He was born in Serbia and became an Electrical Engineer.

He then migrated to the USA, the land of oppurtunities!

He then worked in Edison's lab with a letter of recomendation which stated :-

I only know 2 great people. The first is you (Edison), the second is this man (Tesla)

Tesla agreed to help modify Edison's generator for which Edison agreed to pay him a bonus of $50000.

Tesla did modify the generators and made them more efficient.

When Tesla asked for the bonus, Edison replied "I don't think you get the American sense of humour, do you?

Tesla then quit his job and continued inventing more awesome stuff.

He became a close rival of Edison but was never rich like him.

Here are a list of stuff he invented :-

Tesla Coil

a sort of transformer. If you hold a light bulb near it, it will light.
Yes, it is wireless electricity.

Fluorescent light bulb.

Edison's light bulb was frikin unefficient. It was 98% heat and 2% light.
Edison cannot even hold the light bulb he invented cause it was too hot !

Radio

Most people think it was Marconi who made the radio but he did it using 17 of Tesla's patented design.

AC current system.

Our Edison banked on the DC electric system but man was it inefficient and expensive. Tesla's AC system was way better and is used till this day.

Electric motor

Yes it was Tesla who designed the electric motor which worked by alternating the magnetic field to create a rotation. Now we use it in everyday life from Tamiya Cars to Hybrid Cars.

There are still more stuff but i think the above was great enough.

He did so much for humanity but was never a rich guy nor was he even remembered.

As Tesla himself stated:-

“Let the future tell the truth, and evaluate each one according to his work and accomplishments. The present is theirs; the future, for which I have really worked, is mine.”

Money Politics

Just watched the 8p.m. news and something really caught my attention.

DAP now has a rule that any party member who wants to "keluar party" or join BN or become adun BEBAS has to pay

RM5,000,000/ RM5 Million !

I went like wow ! Now you talking!

Come on, before this there was a "buyer" going around buying opposition parliament members without being stopped.

Now DAP has changed the rule of the game !

Looks like the "buyer" has to increase their rate now ! LOL !

Maybe the minimum the buyer needs to offer is RM 6,000,000.

Let's see how the desperate the "buyer" is.

Let's see if there are anymore opposition members jumping party.

Hats off to DAP for the wonderful strategy !

Malaysian politics is definetly entertaining.

Science of The Unknown

It is the 21st century & the advance in Science & technology is undeniably freakin fast.

Science = the study of natural phenomenon.

There is where the problem starts.

In science we try to find an answer for everything even the existence of God.

If it is not scientifically proven then we say it is impossible or unrealistic.

I kinda find this bias & narrow minded.

Instead of saying "No way, thats not possible !" try saying " WHY NOT "

Science has yet to answer many questions from paranormal activity to the existence of God.

One of the most simple ones is " Why does a compass point North always ?"

This is the answer given by an expert from the magazine, Popular Science :-

Science is full of things you can see with your own eyes yet for which, even today, there is no satisfactory explanation.

For instance, a compass needle always points south. You might know this happens because the earth's magnetic field is orientated roughly along its axis of spin.

But why does it point north no one knows.

We can see it, describe it and measure it but we can't explain it

Moral of the Story : Think twice before you say that is impossible.
Few centuries back they said it was impossible to fly
but now look where we are.

Death of the Golden Goose & The Birth of Chaos

The year is 2010,

The Government has announced it will introduce Goods Service Tax (GST) early this year.

In May, the government announced that it will cut subsidies.

The signs are clear, the Golden Goose which gives the golden egg is going to die.

The Golden Goose = Petrol.

We all learned in Form 3 that fossil fuels are a non-renewable source of energy.

Once its gone, its gone. You are going to have to wait another few million years for fossil fuels.

For now everybody is happy that petrol is RM1.80 per liter.

Sadly, this is going to change.

The government "might" remove the petrol subsidy gradually until market price.

Well, thats their plan but I doubt it.

The people will not accept that & definitely make a lot of noise.

Eventually, they will be forced to accept the harsh reality and then things just start to get worse.

Prices will rise sky high. RM 10 is now RM 1.

That will mark the Birth of Chaos. From then on it is a continuous spiral downwards.

A fictional future not likely to happen ?

Sorry, this is not a fairy tale. Things do not end happily ever after.

Look around you ? What is happening ?

What our attempts to mitigate oil depletion ?

Does the government have any contingency plan ?

Our electricity grid, where does most of the power come from ?

Why are Singaporeans filling up their cars until their tanks explode with our subsidized petrol ?

I don't understand why can we just make a law requiring all Singaporean cars to leave Malaysia with only half or a quarter tank of fuel. If not, there is RM200 fine.

Instead of requiring all foreign cars to only fill up 20 liters of fuel. This is stupid and ridiculous. If you do not know how to solve a problem look around for answers ? Come on, all Singapore cars leaving Singapore must have 3/4 tank of fuel, so why can't we adopt the same policy to our advantage.

Are we considering nuclear power ? I think it is too late.

The Shah of Iran (wise guy) knew that petrol will run out in the future &
started Iran's Nuclear Program in the 1950's. The Shah approved plans to construct, with U.S. help, up to 23 nuclear power stations by 2000.
Sadly, Iran's nuclear program continued until the 1979 Iranian Revolution that toppled the Shah of Iran.

Now in 2010 Malaysia is considering nuclear energy. I do not know whether to laugh or cry ?

What are we going to do when oil runs out or becomes RM180 per litre ?

I would consider getting a bicycle.

Err.. you might want to forget the imported hydrogen OR solar car cause it might cost more than RM 1 mil.

Plus you cannot plug and charge via the power grid cause the electricity rate then will be RM 50 per kilowatt.

So, I hope you consider a bicycle or maybe invent a car which runs on water.

You might want to work on that fast based on the graph below.

Enviromental Disasters & People

Another oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. This time its BP.

I always wondered what BP stands for. Then I knew it was British Petroleum.

Now the Americans call BP = British Polluters.

Well, I am glad its BP and hope next time its Shell.

No, I am not mean. Come on, all oil companies have to get bad publicity at least once.

Exxon Mobil got it for the Valdez oil spill.

I hope Petronas does not f*!k up like the others or we will be BROKE by 2012 !

I know what the Socialist / Communist have to say :

Bloody capitalists destroying the environment without mercy just to get profits !

Wait a minute, even the Socialist / Communist have got their hands dirty.

The difference about socialist / communist when they screw up is that they try to keep it a secret.

Unfortunately, for the capitalist who screws up, it goes PUBLIC & they try to sue them for EXTRAORDINARY SUMS of DAMAGES.

The Socialist / Communist are pretty good at covering up their "ACT" they have done to the environment.

Ever heard about the Aral Sea & Darvaza ?

Aral Sea - The Soviets were trying to do 2 things-

(1) Build an irrigation system to irrigate plantation in the inland
(2) Research on Biological weapons in an island in the sea.

Things got bad and the Biological Weapons facility was just abandoned and the sea started to shrink thanks to the wonderful irrigation system.

Next is, Darvaza ( The Gateway to Hell)

Now, this is a crater with methane burining inside it for the last 20 years.

Oh yeah, thats a lot of methane.

Our Soviet friends tried to build a gas extraction plant on top of the place but sadly the ground below was too soft and collapsed.

Methane is poisonous and 2x worst than Carbon Dioxide as a greenhouse gas.

So, how to solve the problem ? Just burn the feaking gas !

You solve the problem and create a spectacular site like never seen before.

Mmm... I wonder is BP thinking what I am thinking ?

Why not set the oil floating in the gulf on fire ?

Aftermath

After a war, there is always the aftermath.

Battle wounds and psychological scar.

Well, the same goes for after an ACCA paper.

Thankfully no battle wounds.

What I cannot forget until now is some Latin terms I learned in F4 "Law paper"

Here it goes :-

ratio decidendi - reason behind the decision of law

obiter dicta - statement made by judges

mala fide - acting in bad purpose

res ipsa loquitar - take the facts of the case as they are.

Principle of nemo dat quad non habet - only the original owner can pass a good title

volunti non fit injuria - cannot sue if you yourself have consented to the act.

contra proferentem rule - to protect defandant from exemption clause

bona fide - good faith

habeas courpus - protection from unlawful detention

I just cannot forget this stuff.

I think maybe it is kinda cool in a weird kind of way !

Freedom

Freedom.................

It's the best feeling in the world !

Nothing to worry about !

Can finally watch TV without anyone saying,
"Aren't you suppose to be studying for your exam "

(Sigh)...of relief

When my paper F5 just ended at 6.17 p.m. I was feeling kinda weird.

I was wondering, "So is this the Freedom i have been seeking for ?"

I walked out of the exam hall & only then did I realise

I WAS FREE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will really value this period of time as the saying goes,

"Better enjoy it while you still can"
